Kimtag is a connection hub. It makes connection sharing easy. It allows you to put all your connections such as your social networks, websites and blogs in one place and then provide that place to people with QR Codes, NFC tags and links so they can decide how to connect with you.
As well as the tens of thousands of personal and business Kimtags, people have also used Kimtags for events, products, invites, properties, CV's and hundreds of other uses.
Most people, organisations and businesses now have many connections. How we connect with people changes and how people want to connect with us differs. Using a connection hub means your hub remains constant while the way you connect can change.
It is. We are a well funded company run by seasoned internet people. We use good quality servers with good quality providers including Amazon's Cloud computing services to provide us with substantial capacity headroom. Nothing's perfect, but we know what we are doing. You, your QR Codes and NFC tags, and your connections are in safe hands.
We provide a lighter, simpler and faster version of the connection hub for mobiles because most people still get much slower internet access on mobiles. We also change the way information is presented depending on the device and connection speed.
Because it provides you with flexibility. If you 'hardcode' your connection (say your website) into the QR Code or your NFC Tag then you cannot change this. If you use a connection hub, your QR Code or NFC Tag points to the hub and you can redirect where you want and change whenever you want.
Not at all. Just add the connection you want your QR Code and/or NFC Tag to direct to, select Instant Redirect under AutoConnect in your settings and users will jump straight through without visiting the connection page.
You can. We provide a number of different systems for you to do this. Have a look at our page on Creating Multiple Kimtags.
You can either purchase your own NFC Tags and program them to point to your Kitmag page or you can purchase pre-programmed and optionally pre-printed NFC tags directly from us via the Kimtag Store (available from your account menu after login).
We recommend using the EPS file format for printing because it is a lossless format which can be resized easily. For web use, we would recommend the PNG or JPG files or use the cut and paste embed code under the 'links' tab.
We provide a number of ways to personalise your connection page including changing the layout, background colours and image and so on. However, it's important to remember that Kimtag is a connection hub, not a social network or personal homepage. It's purpose is to provide a uniform, simple and effective way for people to connect with you. We are not the destination, we are just the link.
Send us an email at help@kimtag.com. We can get really busy so give us a little time but we always help any way we can.
Not yet. Our mobile optimised connection page works perfectly across the vast majority of phones and while we might be able to provide a better experience with an App, anyone scanning or accessing your Kimtag would be required to download that App and we don't think that's a good idea. QR Code or NFC tag scanning Apps are often built into phones and there are so many free Apps already on the market for scanning that adding another would offer little benefit. When we see a real benefit, we'll release one.
Yes.
No. Never.
Yes. We have a comprehensive system for you to control who sees your connections. Have a look at the help document on privacy settings and the directory system.
Note: by default, all connections are open and public. You need to set them private.
Just login, go to your settings, click on the Delete tab and that's it. Note that there's no going back. Once it's deleted, it's gone forever and someone else could eventually get your tag. If you aren't sure, use 'hide' instead of delete.
Click login as usual. Type your email or kimtag into the top box and the word 'lost' into the password box. We'll send you an email with instructions.
Use the Custom ID or Custom Link connections. You can change the title and icon of these connections as well as the link.
You can't register one or two letter Kimtags. You can register three letter Kimtags but these are in high demand and short supply so we charge a small annual fee for these. Just register as normal and follow the instructions.
Yes. To track NFC tags, use the URL 'kimtag.com/yourtag/nfc' or use the NFC tracking enabled short code you can find within your settings. This will ensure that NFC scans show independently in your stats.
Sadly, nobody has ever asked us that. But if you want to, then we are really into sushi at the moment.
